Vision 2010 is a joint Moroccan and UAE multi-billion investment project aimed to increase tourism to 10 million visitors per year by 2010.
The investment plans include the following:
- Building a Channel Tunnel between Morocco and Spain by 2010
- Billions of US$ to be invested by major Arab developers in a 5 year expansion plan. They will build new complexes with golf courses, 5* hotels, beach clubs, riding clubs, marinas, convention centres and spas creating a premier luxury lifestyle
- US$4.8billion UAE investments focusing on real estate, seaside resorts, shopping centres, roads, harbour and airport infrastructure, creating new employment opportunities
- €11.9m project to build new roads
- The creation of a new network of high speed trains
- €19m national electricity project granted to Spanish company
- US$3.5billion project to build gas fired combined cycle project near Rabat by Morocco´s Electricity company
Plan Azur 2010 is King Mohammed VI creation of 6 tourist developments on the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. These will be built over the next 5 years and will include stunning apartments, townhouses, villas, golf and 5* hotels.

- Morocco & EU sign open sky agreement starting 1st January 2006 which means that any airline can now fly into and out of Morocco. Atlas Blue is the first low cost Moroccan airline to launch

- New US$8.3m movie studios being opened by director of Hannibal & Red Dragon
- Morocco enters the bid for FIFA World Cup 2010. Despite not winning the bid, they still continue with all their plans to improve the sports facilities and infrastructure throughout the country
- EU countries remain the largest investors in Morocco with a share of 91%
